Its World Cup fever in Africa, and who can blame us with
less than 7 months to one of Africa’s most prestigious events, and every man
woman and child readying themselves for the event of this decade. Much like
South Africa, Namibia is frantically preparing to welcome the millions of
projected visitors, not only from the international community, but from other
African nations as well.
When it was announced that South Africa was to host the 2010
world cup, Africa let out a collective whoop of excitement at the mere thought
of the opportunity, and the nations all
gathered themselves as the implications of doing a good job hit them hard.
Namibia was one on the nations that would not sit idly by, passively waiting
for 2010 to roll around, and only hoping for the best. Namibia hit the ground
running planning, organizing and coordinating resources to ensure that they
will not be left wanting and eager visitors in Africa waiting, when it was time
to light the pitch for the first match.
World Cup excitement has reached Fever pitch in all corners of Africa, bringing all nations together to host this histocrical event.
